In July 1958, Black Students gathered at Wichita’s Dockum Drugstore to stage a peaceful protest against the unequal practice of segregation.

Develop a love for books throughout their earliest years!  These fun early literacy classes spark a love for books and help develop the 6 important skills children must have before they can learn to read.

Our youth book club is tackling Winfield Public Library’s 2020 Reading Challenge together!
For January, we’re reading a book set in Kansas, Grasslands by Debra Seely.
Books are distributed at book club meetings. 

Youth have an opportunity to tackle the Winfield Public Library’s 2021 Reading Challenge together!
For September's challenge, we’re reading a book written by a Hispanic author, Merci Suarez Changes Gears by Meg Medina.
