Description

The Friends of the Winfield Public Library is a nonprofit, volunteer organization.  They provide support for the library and a needed voice advocating the value of the library in the Winfield community. Join us for our monthly meeting.

This month, the Friends welcome Trish Andrews who will present her photo collection: Quiet: A Rural Landscape at Rest.

Trish Andrews moved with her family to Winfield, Kansas in 2015. She was born and raised in a small dairy farming community in Northern Illinois, and later moved to Wisconsin to attend Carthage College.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Education degree from Carthage College and a Master of Arts in history degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Prior to moving to Kansas, she spent 16 years working in higher education in various administrative and academic support positions in areas including residence life, leadership development, service learning, judicial affairs, and academic advising.  She also taught United States History as an adjunct instructor.

When her husband Brad was appointed President of Southwestern College, Trish decided to turn her attention to supporting her family as a full-time stay-at-home parent and active member of the Winfield community.  She attends First United Methodist Church, is a member of PEO chapter CU, enjoys being involved at Whittier Elementary school where her daughters attend school, and supporting Southwestern College by attending events with her husband and family.  Trish most loves spending time with her husband and their four children; Graham (21), Tyler (17), Madeline (10), and Gwendolyn (8).  Her hobbies include traveling, reading, writing fiction, photography, and jogging.
