Description

Pack a lunch, invite a friend, and join the discussion.  This month we are watching "How Dolly Parton led me to an epiphany," a 2020 TED Talk by Radiolab creator and host Jad Abumrad. In his podcasts, Abumrad tells true stories that help people find beauty in a chaotic world. Reflecting on the power of stories and the paths they take, Abumrad recounts a personal story about finding answers in an unexpected place.  Abumrad has received three Peabody Awards and was named a MacArthur Fellow in 2011.  His podcast, Radiolab, airs locally on KMUW at 3:00pm on Saturdays.

What they are:  TED Talks are short, carefully prepared, idea-focused talks that foster learning, inspiration, and wonder.

Why we like 'em:  no matter the topic covered, these talks provoke conversation and inspire listeners to continue thinking and learning far after the presenter has finished

How to join:  bring your lunch to the library and join in as we watch a highly rated TED Talk and continue the conversation amongst ourselves

What else should I know?  Coffee and dessert are provided
