Program Description
Description
The Kansas 250 Author Talk series is a monthly live-streamed program featuring Kansas authors and subjects. Winfield Public Library will host a viewing party for March’s event featuring Kansas Poet Laureate Traci Brimhall on Wednesday, March 25 at 7:00pm. Light refreshments will be provided as Brimhall shares a unique look at poets that embody the Kansas motto, ad astra per aspera – to the stars through difficulties.
Brimhall is an award-winning poet whose work has been featured in The New Yorker, The Nation, and Best American Poetry. In addition to serving as Poet Laureate of the State of Kansas, she is a professor of creative writing at Kansas State University and current poet-in-residence at the Guggenheim Museum. The Kansas 250 Author Talk series is part of the State Library of Kansas’s Kansas 250 Initiative. Kansans can register to view the online event at home.
