Description
In August 1883, President Chester A. Arthur embarked on a strenuous expedition over 500 miles of roughest Wyoming and Montana, 360 of those miles on horseback. The trip played an important role in rescuing Yellowstone National Park from neglect, apathy, and commercial expansion. Robert Hartley, Winfield resident, historian, and author of Saving Yellowstone will present about this journey and a Cowley County connection to our nation's first National Park.
