Program Description

Description

During the month of February, Winfield Public Library invites you to explore Cowley Kids Data visualizations on display throughout the library. The exhibit, provided by Legacy, RISE Cowley, and the Early Literacy Initiative, is aimed at increasing awareness of the needs of our Cowley County children.

A Closer Look @ Cowley Kids explores the divide between what assumptions and the reality of what is really happening, zeroing in on kids and how poverty impacts health, education, and their potential for a successful future. Indicators with Cowley County-specific data vetted by the Kansas Health Institute have been targeted.

During the month of February, Legacy plans to host a series of community conversations to further the work, the exhibit at WPL is part of that effort.  Impact work will grow out of the new and collaborative work of community partners - including frontline service providers, non-profit directors, city/county/state officials, school district officials, private philanthropists and passionate community leaders.

  • Self-Guided Experience: During Library Open Hours
  • Guided Experience: Mondays @ 10:00 am (Donuts & Data Conversations)
  • To schedule a club, organization or business tour call the library at (620) 221-4470.
